How can I create a first line indent using Microsoft Word 2003?
A first line indent indents the first line of the paragraph. To indent the first line of a paragraph using Microsoft Word 2003:
  1. Highlight the paragraph you wish to indent by holding down your select mouse button as you select the paragraph.
  2. Choose Format then Paragraph from the main menu.
  3. Choose the Indents and Spacing tab.
  4. Click to open the drop-down menu on the Special field.
  5. Click First Line.
  6. Enter the value you wish to indent the first word of the paragraph in the By field.
  7. Click OK. Word applies your indentation setting to the first word of the paragraph.
How can I format and adjust the space before and after a paragraph using Microsoft Word 2003?
In Microsoft Word 2003, the Space Before setting sets the amount of space that is placed before a paragraph and Space After sets the amount of space that appears after the paragraph.

To format and adjust the space before and after a paragraph using Microsoft Word 2003:
  1. Highlight and select the paragraph that you wish to adjust.
  2. Choose Paragraph from the Format menu option in the main menu.
  3. Select the Indents and Spacing tab.
  4. Enter the point size you wish to set for the space before the paragraph in the Before field.
  5. Enter the point size you wish to set for the space after the paragraph in the After field.
  6. Click OK. Word applies the space settings that appear before and after the selected paragraph.
How can I delete a Tab Setting from my document using Microsoft Word 2003?
To remove and delete a Tab Setting from your document using Microsoft Word 2003:
  1. Click Ruler from the View menu option in the main menu.
  2. Select the Tab Setting be clicking and holding the triangle icon that represents the Tab Setting in the ruler.
  3. While clicking and holding your mouse cursor down over the triangle icon that represents the Tab Setting, drag the triangle icon off the screen. Word will remove and delete the Tab Setting.
